Cefuroxime Axetil

  • Broad spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic with increased stability to B-lactamase
  • Highly active against beta lactamase producing strains which are resistant to ampicillin and penicillin
  • Highly active against skin & soft tissue infections caused by S. aureus, S. pyogenes, E. coli, Klebsiella, Enterbacter
  • In meningitis cefuroxime has superior penetration into the CSF compared to other cephalosporins
