Mode of Action

Ceftriaxone is a third-generation cephalosporin that kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis. Tazobactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, protects Ceftriaxone from enzymatic degradation, thus extending its antibacterial spectrum and potency.

Indications

TAZOQUIT-XP Injection is indicated for the treatment of:

• Lower and upper respiratory tract infections

• Urinary tract infections (complicated and uncomplicated)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Intra-abdominal infections

• Septicemia

• Bone and joint infections

• Post-surgical infections

Dosage and Administration

• Adults: Usually 1.125 gm every 12 hours by IM or IV route, depending on infection severity.

• Children: As directed by the physician.

• Route: Intravenous (IV) or Intramuscular (IM) administration only.

• Dosage should be adjusted in patients with renal impairment.
